Course summary
This engineering qualification provides a specialist work-related programme of study that covers the key knowledge, understanding and practical skills required in the engineering sector. During the course you will study 8 mandatory units, the details of which are found below. You will develop knowledge and undertake a range of projects mixed with academic theory, creating highly skilled and motivated individuals that have the opportunity to progress into a broad range of engineering careers. If you are working within the engineering field or have ambitions of working in this area in a professional, managerial, or technical capacity, then these courses are for you. HNC provides a nationally recognised qualification (120 credits) offering career progression and professional development for those already in employment and opportunities to progress on to our HND. The courses at University Centre Peterborough are studied in smaller class sizes compared with other universities, a typical class size is under 15 students.

A typical 30 credit unit is 300 hours which includes 90 hours of tutor led delivery and 210 hours of recommended independent study. A full-time student should expect to undertake 30 additional hours per week during term-time.
Assessment method
100% Coursework We will provide, by the beginning of the first week of each semester, a current module guide with all the information you need for each module, including details of assessment tasks, the deadlines for these tasks, the required format and any relevant guidance.
