Course summary
BA (Hons) Stage Management and Technical Theatre is a three year full-time undergraduate course. The programme combines extensive training in core technical skills, sound and lighting design, and the full range of stage management skills. According to their individual interests and career goals, students gain a broad practical experience in a range of technical and production roles. As part of the Richard Burton Company, they are responsible for fifteen shows each year, ranging from small scale tours of specially commissioned new plays through to main stage musicals. The College’s artistic programme also offers opportunities to work on music concerts, opera productions, in-house events and festivals. Applicants will be selected for interview on the basis of the information provided on the UCAS application form. Following an interview, conditions of any subsequent offers made are determined by academic staff, depending on the individual applicants' qualifications and the interview process. The College accepts many different level 3 qualifications including A-Levels, Scottish Highers, BTEC National Diploma/Certificate, WBQ, International Baccalaureate, Advanced GNVQ, AVCE or Advanced Diploma (Level 3) as well as recognised international qualifications. Any conditions set are made on grades not UCAS tariff points.
