The professionally accredited BSc (Hons) Biomedical Sciences (Health, Exercise & Nutrition) pathway at Cardiff Met focuses on the scientific study of all aspects of lifestyle, and the strategies that can be employed to improve health. We are in the vanguard of innovative biomedical study of major health crises such as the physical inactivity and obesity epidemics. Recent Highlights: 100% student satisfaction for two years running (National Student Survey, 2018/19 and 2019/20) Contributed to Cardiff Met’s position as Top Welsh University for BioSciences (Guardian University Guide, 2020/21) Contributed to Cardiff Met’s position in Top 20 UK Universities for BioSciences (Guardian University Guide, 2020/21) Emphasis is placed on the role that exercise, health promotion and nutrition contribute to this end. This Biomedical Sciences (Health, Exercise & Nutrition) pathway includes a series of fundamental science-based modules in human physiology, nutrition, biochemistry and psychology. The pathway is accredited by the Royal Society of Biology for the purpose of meeting in part the academic and experience requirement for Membership and Chartered Biologist (CBiol). Common First Year Please note that the BSc Biomedical Science degree and the BSc (Hons) Biomedical Sciences with Health, Exercise & Nutrition pathway share a common first year. On successful completion of the first year, students can decide which degree to follow from year two onwards.
