OVERVIEW As growth in the non-surgical aesthetic market increases exponentially year on year, the demand for a qualified and highly skilled workforce is at an all-time high. Open to therapists and non-therapists alike, our Aesthetic Practitioner degree will help you develop a range of technical and transferable skills, enabling you to pursue a reputable and lucrative career in the aesthetic industries. Learning in our commercial Aspire Aesthetics clinic at University College Birmingham, you will study a range of non-medical cosmetic procedures such as laser and light technologies and chemical peels. You will also explore theories and concepts including science of skincare, skin health education, ageing theories and physiology alongside key concepts of business operations, maximising your potential for employability by ensuring you are qualified to the right level to work safely and ethically. As part of our aesthetic training course, you will engage with industry experts through conferences, guest speakers, mentors, networking events and trips, including the opportunity to visit the Mesoestetic laboratory and production facility in Spain. You will also have opportunities to undertake additional training courses as well as benefiting from access to a range of initiatives and projects, including our Creative Futures Incubator which supports new business opportunities for graduates. Transferring from another university At University College Birmingham, we consider applications from students who have studied, or are currently studying, a Higher Education course and now wish to transfer universities. What do I need to do? Additionally, the process will be dependent on the number of credits achieved on your current course. Where similar study is apparent, it may be possible for us to award Recognition of Previous Learning (RPL) and, therefore, advanced entry onto a course at UCB will be permitted. Please note; due to the nature of this process, all applications are considered on an individual basis.
