Course summary
Our programme will provide a unique opportunity to study advanced robotics topics in intensive detail. A key part of the programme is the extensive individual project which will be closely linked to research activities in the School of Engineering and Materials Science and in the school of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science. For students keen to get into industry the MSc provides an opportunity to pursue commercialization activities and receive relevant training, supported by Queen Mary Innovation (QMI) and collaborating industrial partners. For the research-focused student there is the opportunity to publish research project findings in international conferences / journals and develop a research portfolio. The Centre for Advanced Robotics at Queen Mary University of London (ARQ) conducts robotics research of the highest level and aims to generate interruptive innovations in all areas relating to robotics and is expected to have a major impact in those areas. One of the important objectives of ARQ is to actively pursue collaborative activities with partners in the UK in robotics and autonomous systems. The Centre specialises in the following areas: Control and power, Human-machine interaction, Perception and AI and Cognition.

Entry requirements
This programme requires ATAS clearance. Students who are not EEA or Swiss nationals may require ATAS clearance to undertake this course. The CAH3 code for this course is CAH10-01-02. Further information on ATAS can be found on our Advice and Counselling webpages. A Good 2:2 UK degree or overseas equivalent is required, usually in subjects with substantial Maths or Physics content. Relevant subjects can be Robotics, Mechatronics, Engineering (including Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Bioengineering or similar), or Computer Science. Non relevant degree subjects may be considered if there is evidence of sufficient study in Maths/Physics or related modules. IELTS 6.5 is required.
