Course summary
The department has particular geographical strengths in British, European and North American history, and in regional history of northern England; thematic interests include: Religious, economic, social and cultural history; history of the middle ages; history of gender and sexuality; history of modernism. Operating under the close guidance of a personal supervisor, research Master's students 1st design an individual research agenda, then conduct extensive primary and secondary investigations before writing up their findings.
