Course summary
Sporting success is not achieved by individuals. Athletes rely on the teams around them, including sport scientists and coaches. Similarly, individuals who are sedentary require a team of health specialists to support them in becoming active. This British Association of Sport and Exercise Science (BASES) endorsed MSci Sport and Exercise Science degree will help you to make a difference to the ambitions and achievements of both elite-level athletes and sedentary or clinical populations. You'll work with our team of practicing professionals and researchers at the cutting edge of the field, building theoretical knowledge and a wealth of practical skills. By choosing between the Sport Performance or Physical Activity for Health pathway in Year Two, you'll have the opportunity to specialise in your area of choice, emerging as a highly-employable graduate able to work with elite athletes and diverse populations in the physical activity, exercise and health sectors. By choosing the four year MSci route, you will continue to develop generic and specific knowledge and hands-on skills with additional opportunities for further specialism in biomechanics, physiology, coaching, physical activity for health, psychology, nutrition or strength and conditioning through to Masters level.
