Course summary
Crime begins in the mind. As do responses to it. Gain a thorough understanding of the human mind, developing a psychologist's ability to analyse and evaluate, while also discovering the theoretical and policy issues relating to crime. One of the aims of this degree is to give you the skills to gather, analyse and evaluate data about people’s behaviour and thoughts. In coming to understanding how crime is dealt with, your studies will draw on disciplines such as social policy, sociology, psychology and law. You'll benefit from cutting-edge facilities such as electroencephalography (EEG) equipment for measuring brain activity. The foundation year is ideal if you don't have the academic qualifications for direct entry onto the degree. The foundation year is designed for applicants whose qualifications and experience do not allow direct entry to the undergraduate degree. We expect applicants to demonstrate an experience of a related subject and an aptitude for academic work which may be determined by an essay and/or interview alongside the application. For applicants with Level 3 qualifications, we will usually require a minimum of 80 points.
