Birmingham Newman University offers an innovative foundation year to complement our undergraduate degrees. Our Foundation Year is the first year of a four-year degree. Successful completion of the Foundation Year leads into the first year of the 3 year degree in Sport and Exercise Science. The foundation year provides an alternative route to an undergraduate degrees for those unable to meet the traditional entry requirements for a three-year degree and for those looking to build their confidence and academic skills. BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Science We personalise our Sport degrees at Birmingham Newman Universityto help you discover new opportunities – supporting your journey towards coaching, research and professional roles in sporting environments. Staff and students work together in the Sport subject area so we quickly get to know you and your story. You will have easy access to our sophisticated facilities, including our Human Performance Lab, sports hall and 3G pitch. This is an active and interactive programme and you will develop your skills and self-belief on a programme that supports the direction you choose. We’re also proud to be an education partner of CIMSPA (The Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity) – a professional development body for the UK’s sport and physical activity sector. Our graduates are well prepared to go on to exciting things – from working as referees or with sports teams and biomechanics firms, to providing sports statistics for BBC and Sky, coaching children, and teaching at all levels
