About the course Business is brought to life with a focus on real-world business and management scenarios, around key themes: -sustainable approaches to business and management -planning for effective marketing and promotion -managing business function areas -current trends and changes in management -enabling success by using strategic choices -business innovation Year 1 (Level 4) modules include: -developing personal and academic studies -sustainable approaches to business and management -business law -essentials of marketing -introduction to sustainability -insight into economics -principles of finance Year 2 (Level 5) modules include: -sustainable management and leadership -business decision making -human resources management -entrepreneurship -promotional campaigns -supply chain management Year 3 (Level 6) modules include: -strategic management -employment law -global marketing -business ethics and sustainability -major research project The final-year research project allows students to complete an independent body of research on a related topic of their choice. This will require students to demonstrate their ability to conduct original research, analyse data, and present their findings in a clear and concise manner. Students will have the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the programme to a real business-related issue. Assessments A mixture of traditional and innovative assessment methods will be used, including individual and group presentations, discussions, report writing, case studies, presentations, research and project work, examinations, reflective journals and work-based projects. Qualification awarded: Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Business and Management - validated by The Open University. This multi-disciplinary degree provides the skillsets needed to succeed in business after you graduate and does not limit you to a specific job. Most of our graduates enter the business world and find employment in a wide range of organisations, in the public, private and voluntary sectors. After graduating you could become a: business advisor, business development manager, investment banker, data analyst, consultant, project manager, accounts manager, risk manager, stockbroker, estate agent, HR manager, supply chain manager, teacher. Several have chosen to continue their studies to postgraduate level.
