Course summary
Architecture is a rewarding and culturally important profession – and at Brighton we see architecture as a social activity as well as a technical exploration. The Architecture BA(Hons) with integrated foundation year provides an additional year of study at foundation level, opening up new opportunities for you in this subject area if you do not currently have the portfolio of work or academic qualifications required for entry to the 3 year architecture course. This route may also be right for you if you are returning to study. The extra year of study equips you with the support, knowledge and skills you need to continue your studies whilst enabling you to develop your portfolio. Successful completion of the foundation year means you can progress directly onto our accredited Architecture BA(Hons) degree. At this point you can also opt to continue on to either our Interior Architecture BA(Hons) or Product Design BA(Hons) course. The BA degree enables you to build a thorough understanding of modern architectural practices, informed by consideration of the broader context of social engagement; who is it for, what informs its design and structure, and what will its legacy be?
