Course summary
While this pathway is mostly technical in focus, you will also learn about the business context and develop interpersonal skills that are vital to problem solving in business. You will have the opportunity to work towards professional qualifications to become a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP). You will study six modules and complete a dissertation. Some of the optional modules are only offered according to staff availability and student interest.
Assessment method
Assessment is by coursework, oral presentations, group work, practical reports, critical reviews and a substantial independent research dissertation.
Entry requirements
Applicants will normally hold a recognised first or second class honours degree from a UK university or international equivalent in a relevant subject. We expect that you will have a working knowledge of computers and networks and it is essential that you have practical hands-on experience of at least one programming language. Those who do not have English as their first language will need to demonstrate that they meet the minimum English language requirement of IELTS 6.5 (or equivalent). If you do not meet our standard entry requirements, it is possible to undertake a single module and, upon successful completion of this module, progress to the full MSc qualification, contact us at [email protected] to discuss this option.
