Course summary

This MSc allows you to focus your studies and combine different AI topics to suit your personal requirements and future plans. Our world-class teaching, research and industrial contacts will support you as you understand fundamental AI concepts. You will study universal machine learning tools essential for any AI job profile, and specific practical and research skills on all five of the AI topics. You will gain experience with cutting-edge tools such as Deep Neural Networks (DNN), Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN), and Deep Reinforcement Learning (Deep RL) via regular exercises and practical labs. You will work closely with your lecturers and supervisors to carry out a major project on the AI topic that you want to specialise in. • Work with the most up-to-date technologies - each topic is backed up by our world-leading research centres and groups • Learn Game AI that represents some of the most advanced AI to date, such as AlphaGo • Develop practical machine learning skills across all five AI topics • Be taught by world-renowned academics and have regular contact with them throughout the programme

Entry requirements

An upper second class degree is normally required, usually in electronic engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related discipline. Students with a good lower second class degree may be considered on an individual basis. Applicants with unrelated degrees will be considered if there is evidence of equivalent industrial experience.


English language requirements

All applicants to Queen Mary must show they meet a minimum academic English language standard for admission and to be successful on the course.
