Course summary

Our BSc Occupational Therapy degree prepares you to work as a registered occupational therapist in the UK and overseas. This is a full-time programme with part-time study over three days per week which includes attending lectures and study time and part time placements (3 days a week) for the first two years and full time (five days) in the final year at the end of the course. You will benefit from a range of local, national and international professional placement opportunities and train in modern bespoke clinical OT skills facilities located on the University’s campus. You will have an opportunity to engage in professional practice within a variety of health and social care settings across public, private, voluntary and independent sectors. Successful completion of BSc Occupational Therapy degree will allow you to apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). In addition, it will also give you an opportunity to obtain a licence to practice and become a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists. The NHS Learning Support Fund Students, studying nursing, midwifery and many of the allied health professions courses from September 2020, may be eligible for a payment of at least £5,000 a year which they will not need to pay back. They may be able to apply for Financial support at the university through the NHS Learning Support Fund (NHS LSF) which offers eligible students additional support while studying for their degree.
