Course summary

In the foundation year, you’ll attain the academic and practical skills required which will enable you to progress onto the first year of your degree course, provided the relevant progression criteria are met. You will build your confidence in Biology, Engineering, Chemistry and Maths, and apply your theoretical knowledge in practical lab sessions. Modules will include: • Introductory Mathematics • Intermediate Mathematics • Foundation Science • Foundation Engineering • Practical and Professional Skills You’ll use our outstanding laboratory facilities. In the last year we’ve spent £250,000 on new equipment for our teaching laboratories including telescopes, CCD cameras, ultrasound scanners, magnetic resonance spectrometers, high speed cameras, thermal imaging equipment and a high resolution 3D printer. In the modern world, many new employment opportunities demand multi-skilled graduates.
