Course summary
Our accredited course is designed to provide you with the opportunity to solve problems from a psychological perspective – putting psychology into action by working actively with peers, tutors and community organisations. Tackle real-world issues on our pioneering, British Psychological Society accredited course, which allows you to gain hands-on experience throughout your studies, exploring why we behave the way we do. Our small cohorts allow us to engage in teaching methods that offer a more interactive and student-centred learning environment. We put an emphasis on engaging students in discussion and debate, tackling current issues and trends in society. To complement our teaching, our diverse range of assessments allows you to build a portfolio of personal and professional skills that are attractive to any employer. Examples include: field trips, delivering workshops, writing for different audiences, mock job interviews, and conference and poster presentations. The emphasis of the course is to understand the practical ways in which psychology can be applied. Our students regularly work with organisations such as Age UK to solve real-world problems they are facing. By working with local organisations in each year, you will get first-hand experience of psychology in practice. Our unique position in the heart of the community allows us to offer you the opportunity to complete a community-based project in your second year. This project also provides you with the skills required to complete your independent dissertation.
