Course summary
Lead the fight against cyber crime with this new, forward-thinking course. Delivered in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), the course explores a range of technologies utilised in cyber security, from computer forensics, secure programming to networking and operating systems, and ethical hacking. This is a unique course developed in partnership with AWS Educate and aligned with NCSC CyBoK 1.0 so you can get your career kick started in Cyber Security. Graduates are able to evaluate cyber security issues, recognise best practices, and analyse and evaluate possible solutions to overcome potential threats. This course combines theory and practice, with a strong technical focus. The course aims to develop student's understanding of the relationship between cyber security, and the people and processes that it affects. It also looks at how cyber systems are intended to function, and how they might be abused. With an increasing demand for cyber security expertise to protect our society, this course is designed to meet the industry’s need for highly qualified graduates. Through a mixture of lectures, tutorials, seminars and laboratory sessions, the expert tutors will teach students to use the latest generation of tools and techniques to evaluate cyber security issues, recognise best practices, construct robust software, and evaluate possible solutions to overcome potential threats. Assessment method
You will be taught through a combination of lectures, tutorials and practical classes. Further into the programme you will work on projects that involve developing systems and doing experimental work with guidance from your supervisor and industry connections.
