Liberal Arts at University of Sussex - UCAS

Course summary

In our increasingly polarised world, there’s a social and political need to engage with many, often conflicting, views. Liberal Arts at Sussex brings together perspectives from the arts, humanities and social sciences to create new forms of understanding and future-facing solutions. Together, we aim to forge creative connections and approaches to pressing global challenges – from the climate crisis to the future of work. Our teaching doesn’t start with established answers. You’ll be working with your lecturers to explore imaginative ways of tackling complex issues. You’ll be encouraged to take risks, think differently and achieve real-world change. There’s a strong practical aspect to your learning. Throughout your studies, you’ll develop academic skills – such as essay writing, textual, statistical and visual analysis, and independent research – alongside practice-based approaches, including community organising and media production, in the quest for creative solutions to current problems.
