Law Conversion Course (PGDL) The Law Conversion Course develops your legal knowledge, professional capabilities and problem-solving skills and is closely aligned to the foundational law elements of the SQE1 assessment. • Company Law • Contract Law • Criminal Law • Land Law • Public Law I • Public Law II • Tort Law • Trusts Law • Foundational Legal Skills SQE1 Preparation SQE1 Preparation focuses on the legal practice areas collectively known as Functioning Legal Knowledge (FLK). This is assessed in SQE1 and comprises two exams: FLK1 and FLK2. SQE1 Preparation includes materials and revision opportunities for the core areas of law from your previous studies. These include: • Business Law and Practice (FLK1) • Dispute Resolution (FLK1) • Criminal Law and Practice (FLK2) • Property Law and Practice (FLK2) • Wills and the Administration of Estates (FLK2) Our approach not only provides you with the key legal knowledge you’ll need to pass the exam, but also introduces you to the legal skills necessary to pass SQE2 – giving you the best chance for overall success.
Assessment method
Our LLM Law Conversion with SQE1 is made up of two courses: Law Conversion Course (PGDL) and SQE1 Preparation. Our Law Conversion Course (PGDL) features are variety of assessments, including: • Written exams • Multiple-choice questions • Oral assessments • Written coursework Some exams will be part-seen, involving advanced release of assessment material. The pass mark for all assessments is 50%. Coursework is in the form of essays, reports or case studies, while group or individual presentations may be required to assess other competencies. For SQE1 Preparation, you’ll sit multiple-choice assessments, which are written in the same style as the SQE1 papers and reflect the knowledge you’ll need to pass the external assessment. You’ll also be required to submit a portfolio of skills and a reflective statement to demonstrate the development of your core legal skills.
