Course summary
The Advanced Research award offers students the opportunity to study an area of personal interest in depth to develop expertise in a chosen aspect of education. It is aimed at applicants who intend to pursue careers in senior leadership of education institutions, educational policy development, administration, and academic research. The course will also prepare students for progression into doctoral study. Who is the course for? Established teachers and education practitioners who want to develop expertise and theoretical understanding of the field Newly qualified practitioners looking to upgrade their qualifications and enhance their knowledge. Students who have had some experience in an aspect of educational practice which they would like to develop for future career development MA Education has Placement Year, a one-year course, and Advanced Research pathways.
Entry requirements
An honours degree (2:2 or higher) in a relevant subject such as Education, SEND, Childhood Studies, Social Sciences, Coaching, Mentoring or Counselling or other related fields. Other degree qualifications will be considered depending upon relevant professional experience in an educational context such as schools and colleges. Overseas awards need to be recognised as equivalent by NARIC English language GCSE Grade 4 (iGCSE Grade C) or above or equivalent A short personal statement (no more than 500 words) explaining why you are interested in education and any relevant experience (professional or voluntary) that might support your application a work or academic reference.
