Modules

On the Foundation Degree programme your study will be closely linked to your experience in the workplace. This is a classroom-based course incorporating a work placement. You will study a selection of modules over the two years: Level 4:

  • Curriculum and Pedagogy: Linking Theory and Practice (40 credits).
  • Introduction to Early Child Development (20 Credits).
  • Reflective Practice in Action (20 Credits).
  • Supporting Young Children’s Holistic Health and Wellbeing (40 credits).
Level 5:
  • Contesting Childhood (20 Credits).
  • Research in Early Childhood (40 Credits).
  • Supporting Children with Additional Needs (20 credits).
- The Child, Family and Society (40 credits).

Assessment method

You’ll be assessed through coursework. There are no exams. Assessments could include essays, group presentations, research-based reports and portfolio-based work. We’ll provide you with regular feedback on how well you're doing and give you regular guidance on how to improve your skills, knowledge and understanding.
