Course summary
Interested in a career in Computing but not yet sure what you want to specialise in? Our Computing course, validated by Pearson, allows you the opportunity to explore the different aspects of Computing. You will cover key and important skills that will cover software development, network engineering and network security. This is a HNC which is a 1-year course that is equivalent of the first year of a degree. At the end of this course you will be able to top-up to a HND course that we also offer. The HND will build upon the fundamental skills that we introduce in this course.

Assessment method
The course is delivered by a series of lectures, seminars, tutorials, assignments and project based work. There is a strong focus on practical work, devising group strategies and solutions and feeding back via formal presentation. Students are also encouraged to work independently and to develop the necessary skills to enable the presentation of the highest standard with regards to academic submissions. The combination of theory and practice will enable students to engage in a wide range of activities that reflect modern day policing practice. Assessments may take various forms and could include essays, reports, presentations, reflections on learning, and practical demonstrations.
