Course summary

The course allows students to specialise in an area of interest or relevance i.e: planning for tourism destinations; events management; or project management.

Modules

Modules include: accounting and finance in the organisation; contemporary themes (tourism/hospitality/event management); decision making for managers; dissertation; international tourism marketing; live project; people management and development; research methods. Optional modules: crisis and risk management in events; ethical dimensions of tourism; project management; residential field trip; urban regeneration.

Assessment method

Assessment is based on presentations, reports, projects and a dissertation.


Entry requirements

An Honours degree (2.2 or above) or equivalent; applicants who do not meet the formal entry requirement but have considerable experience of working in the tourism industry may be accepted; minimum IELTS score of 6.5 or 6.0 plus completion of the university's 4-week pre-sessional English course, or equivalent is required for those whose 1st language is not English.
