Course summary
Students will study a range of topics designed to both expand their current performance skills and techniques as well as preparing them to work in a theatre or performance community setting or in education. The course culminates in a final performance project in which students have full creative control in the planning, devising and delivering, encouraging students to work extensively with outside agencies, workplaces and community groups to manage and organise their performances and workshops. The final year of this course is delivered by Burnley College and is aimed at students who have completed their foundation degree or are completing the second year of their university course in a related subject.

Assessment method
By their very nature, Creative Arts courses are highly vocational and combine both academic activities with practice and experience. Assessment is used both to determine results and to assist students to develop. Assessment methods are varied, including creative expansion and performance, essays, portfolios, journals, case studies, reports, individual and group presentations and leading workshops.

Students who wish to enrol at Stage 2 (levels 5, 6). The standard entry requirement is a Foundation Degree in a Theatre or Performance related discipline, HND in a Theatre or Performance related discipline or a Higher Apprenticeship in a Theatre or Performance based discipline. Due to the nature of this course applicants will be required to obtain a Statement of Disclosure (DBS), for which a processing fee will be payable. Applications from individuals with non-standard qualifications, relevant work or life experience and who can demonstrate the ability to cope with and benefit from degree-level studies, are welcome and these applicants will be interviewed.
