The BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy course enables you to develop the knowledge and skills to become a safe, competent and effective physiotherapy practitioner. Upon successful completion of the course you can apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council to practice as a physiotherapist. Physiotherapists provide care and rehabilitation to people of all ages affected by injury, illness or disability, and are essential members of multi-disciplinary teams within the health sector. This course will equip you with the skills and knowledge to assess and deliver interventions to patients from different backgrounds, in the form of education, exercise and manual treatments. Students embarking on the BSc Physiotherapy course will have a desire to practice as a qualified physiotherapist upon completion. Physiotherapy is a science-based profession focused on improving individuals’ physical and mental wellbeing, and overall quality of life. Upon successful completion of this course, which is endorsed by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), you can apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) to practice as a physiotherapist. Following this, Physiotherapy will offer a vast range of different career options, in different settings.

Qualification requirements
There are no qualification requirements for this course.
To receive an offer to study this course you are required to successfully attend and pass a Prepare for Foundation event. This is a one-day programme which is designed to introduce you to studying a health professional course, answer your questions, meet staff and fellow students. You will take part in a variety of subject related activities to help you prepare for your course as well as undertaking your interview during the day. This event will be your opportunity to showcase your keen interest or recent experience in the subject. You will need to hold a level 2 qualification in English and Maths. We understand that not everyone is able to achieve GCSE Maths and English for a variety of reasons. Our equivalency assessments provide an opportunity for you to further your English and/or Maths skills ready for your studies, as well as being able to meet part of the entry requirements for this course. Our equivalency courses are free of charge but must be completed before your course starts.

Free Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and Occupational Health Check: Due to the professional nature of this course you are also required to complete a Declaration of Health and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check. We will coordinate both of these non-academic conditions with you should you accept an offer with us. There will be no cost for the DBS this is free to applicants who have secured a Conditional offer and have chosen to study at the University of Wolverhampton.
