Course summary
This course has been designed to give you the opportunity to apply your skills to develop, produce and exhibit a commercially viable creative video project. This programme is underpinned by practical workshops using dedicated, professional video equipment and software to ensure continued skills development toward professional production values. Your creative video project will be supported by our creative industry and business networks and you will be encouraged to submit to local and national film festivals. This will give you a real insight into producing work for corporate production. This course is structured to develop your personal and professional awareness for the industry. You will collaborate with other students and professionals and you will be provided the opportunity to benefit from specialist workshops where you will gain sector insight through guest speakers. On completion of this course you will be equipped to work within the audio visual production sector. Academic progression is also available through an appropriate Masters Degree.
Modules
Commercial Realisation, Practical Production, Proposal and Pitch, Pre-production, Idea Development. Optional Pathway: Fictional, Factual or Corporate.
Assessment method
You will learn through lectures, tutorial, seminars, group work and one-to-one specialist tutorial support to enhance your understanding of audio visual synergy. You will be assessed through portfolios, presentations, practical workshops and assignments.

Portfolio
Once we have reviewed your application you will be asked to submit a digital portfolio comprising a 2 minute video presentation introducing yourself; What are your ambitions and passions within the Digital Arts and what are your reasons for applying for the Honours Degree (Top-up) in particular; a show-reel approximately 2 minutes including a selection of video footage which best represents your best work (exported in HD/1920x1080). Or, a digital portfolio including a selection of photographic stills, drawings or other digitally created content (to include approximately 8-10 examples of a range of your work).
