How you learn All our courses are designed around a set of key principles based on engaging you with the world, collaborating with others, challenging you to think in new ways, and providing you with a supportive environment in which you can thrive. You will study a combination of management-related and technical modules. We offer a wide range of elective modules, which you can tailor to your own continuing professional development. The course is therefore very flexible — it allows you to delve deeper into your own interests and career aspirations, and gain the skills that employers are looking for. You learn through:
  • laboratory sessions
  • critical reflection
  • lectures
  • seminars
  • tutorials
  • coursework
  • assessments
  • multidisciplinary teamwork
There are opportunities to study abroad at one of our partner universities with the possibility of funding through the Erasmus+ programme (until 2023) or the Turing Scheme. This course is delivered face-to-face over three semesters - teaching is scheduled based on the length of your course and the academic calendar. Applied learning:
  • Live projects
We encourage you to learn through the application of theories, concepts and knowledge to real-life situations (such as your own organisation or in the international product development module), or by using case studies. Our part time students can find that their masters projects are typically of significant importance to their companies and can raise their profile in the organisation.
  • Competitions
We run a range of competitions throughout the year. You can design, build and fly a remote-controlled aircraft as part of the Unmanned Aircraft Systems Challenge. There is also an opportunity to build and race a car as part of the Formula Student competition. This year our SHURacing team came 23rd in the final of the competition at Silverstone.
