Education at University of Huddersfield - UCAS

Course summary

Education in the UK and overseas is constantly changing. This makes it a fascinating field of study, with varied opportunities for employment when you graduate. The course examines a range of contemporary UK and international education systems with a specific focus on education as a business. Why Education?

  • The course addresses the fast-changing educational environment, giving you the skills to make you responsive to those changes within a variety of educational settings. While you’re here, you’ll be able to take an optional work placement in your second year of study. It could be the ideal way to develop the skills that employers are looking for and gain useful contacts in the industry, whether this be in a teaching, administration or business role.
  • You'll explore the political, social, technological and economic context of education, presenting theories related to these aspects so that you can critically understand education systems across the world. You'll also consider approaches to management, organisational culture and behaviour, and marketing within education.
  • In your final year, you will also have the chance to undertake an investigative project that will develop and enhance an educational organisation.
Additional costs:
  • Your placements could be in Huddersfield or surrounding areas, so please consider any travelling costs you may incur.
  • A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required to enable you to undertake placements in settings with children. We arrange this as part of the application process. Please note that there may be a charge for the DBS check.
