Please be aware that demand for LJMU's Paramedic Science degree is extremely high. Our recruitment quota is capped at 50 places. Prior to application applicants must have obtained grade 4 or grade C or above in English Language, Mathematics and Science GCSE or an approved alternative qualification • Key Skills Level 2 • NVQ Level 2 Functional skills • Skills for Life Level 2 • Higher Diploma • Functional skills level 2 • Northern Ireland Essential Skills Level 2 • Wales Essential Skills Level 2 ​All applicants are shortlisted based on qualifications (achieved and/or predicted) in the first instance. We will then check you have evidenced that you hold a full UK manual driving licence as part of your personal statement. If you meet the criteria in terms of qualifications and you have evidenced that you hold a full UK manual driving licence, we will then shortlist on the basis of your personal statement and reference. If you are invited to an interview you will need to produce your full manual driving licence. Following a successful interview you will need meet all the additional criteria above including evidence of holding a provisional C1 driving licence. Failure to confirm you hold a full manual driving licence on your personal statement will result in your application being unsuccessful. Failure to meet any of the conditions above will result in your application being unsuccessful. Please note: The full C1 element on your licence is required at the point of employment with an Ambulance Trust, C1 training is not part of the paramedic programme at the university. PLEASE NOTE: Due to COVID-19 and suspension of driving tests, the clause requiring a provisional or full licence at point of application has been waived for 2020 entry. We accept Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (CoPE) and Extended Project Stand Alone qualifications. We will also accept the new Cache Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care grade B or above, or in combination with other relevant qualifications. Due to the volume of applications, amendments will not be accepted once an application has been submitted; therefore applicants are advised to make sure each section is completed correctly prior to submission.
