The Higher Technical Qualification in computing, network engineering pathway, is a level 5 qualification, which is equivalent to the first two years of an Honours degree. It has been designed to equip you with the knowledge, understanding and skills required for a successful career in computing. Year 1 – Computing BTEC HND/HTQ – Network Engineering Pathway This year will help you gain the underpinning, core skills that are needed to prepare you for further subject specialisation in year 2. You’ll study the network engineering pathway, as well as the specialist pathways such as data analytics, cyber security and the general pathway. What modules will I study?

Year 2 – Computing BTEC HND/HTQ – Network Engineering Pathway This year will help you gain the skills and knowledge necessary to understand the complexities of computer networks, vital to the modern digital economy, and without which, our current way of life would simply stop. Entry Requirements You must hold a minimum of 48 UCAS Tariff points from the one of the following qualifications:
  • BTEC National (Diploma or Extended Diploma) in a relevant subject
  • GCE A and AS Levels with at least one subject at A Level.
You will also need a GCSE English qualification at Grade 4/C or above
