If you scroll through Instagram or swipe through TikTok, if you download the latest music or sneer at adverts, if you binge on Disney+ or want to be an influencer, then Media and Communications is the degree for you. We’ll help you design web content, write sizzling copy and explore the techniques of advertising and public relations. We’ll show you how you to reach and communicate with the most appropriate audience. The world of media and communications is ever-changing and endlessly fascinating. For example, look at how social media is used by politicians to win votes or by environmentalists to protest against the climate crisis. For better or worse, we are a connected planet – and through this course you’ll find your place in it. You'll be able to study the areas of the media that most interest you. From social media and creative digital production to publishing, advertising and branding, you'll gain a solid skillset that will give you the confidence to forge your own career in this exciting industry. You'll develop research skills on projects and campaigns and explore different aspects of media and communications in depth. There will be opportunities to enhance your career prospects by undertaking a work placement.
