Course summary
This course has been designed to cater for a varied range of students and enables them to investigate, and reflect on different, distinctive subjects within the award including designing embedded systems, robot creation and control, automotive aspects, design of animatronics, and ethics and emerging topics in the robot field. These subjects enable the student to study a distinctive degree to meet their own chosen career field. This course contains a highly-recommended sandwich option that comprises a year of industrial placement, which may be carried out overseas, and can include self-employment in a range of areas. The award also has the benefit that it shares a number of core modules with our Computer Science suite of awards which means not only do you become a specialist in AI and Robotics, but also become expert in many topics in the wider computer science field. The Department of Computing at Staffordshire University has an international reputation for outstanding teaching and development of computing professionals with long established relationships with leading companies in the computing industry, and we strive to bring in external speakers and those from industry to provide differing viewpoints of the Computer Science discipline.
