Course summary
This programme provides an academic underpinning that meets the contemporary challenges of advanced clinical practice and will enable you to practice with a high level of clinical autonomy in roles that require you to assess, diagnose, treat and manage the care of people with undifferentiated and/or complex clinical presentations. This particular pathway is suitable for you if you are one of the growing number of UK registered practitioners working in (or towards) a role as an Advanced or Consultant Practitioner within your profession, or a similar role that sits at the interface between your own profession and medicine. This pathway is accredited by Health Education England's Centre for Advancing Practice. Completion of HEE accredited programmes/pathways is set to become one of the benchmark routes to recognition for Advanced Clinical Practitioners, and accreditation is also designed to ensure a consistent level of programme quality across England

Compulsory Modules: History Taking and Physical Assessment Across the Lifespan Level 7, Diagnostic Assessment and Decision Making, MSc Dissertation ; Transition to Advanced Practice, Optional Modules: Pharmacology and Prescribing in Clinical Practice; Applied Pharmacology for Clinical Practice, Research Methods.
Assessment method
We’ll assess you through a combination of: written and oral exams: practical assessments; case studies; a portfolio; presentations your final dissertation.
Entry requirements
2:2 degree in a subject from a clinical or science background, and: a current professional registration with a relevant UK professional or statutory body – normally the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or the General Pharmaceutical Council A current job contract in a clinical or clinically-related area. Access to a clinical mentor who can assess your practice competency and support your learning At least 2 years of relevant post-registration clinical experience (3 years before commencing V300 non-medical prescribing) At least 1 satisfactory reference from your current employer, including confirmation of the required practice experience and mentor support. English language: band C, IELTS 6.5 overall with a minimum of 6.0 in all components
