Course summary
Our Quantity Surveying BSc(Hons) course is the first step to becoming a qualified Quantity Surveyor. The course is validated by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors Technologists (RICS) and the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and has been developed to work alongside our Architecture BA(Hons) and courses in Architectural Technology and Construction Project Management to help develop a strong understanding of professionalism within the construction industry. The course introduces aspects of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Lean Construction to give you the skills to manage the commercial and contractual aspects of the construction process. Why study Quantity Surveying?
- This course gives you the chance to develop the skills you need to work in construction teams, applying the latest processes and technologies.
- Two crucial tools for today’s Quantity Surveyor are Lean Construction and Building Information Modelling (BIM). Our course will give you the chance to explore both areas and understand their relevance to construction.
- Opportunities to work collaboratively with students across other courses in Architecture and Built Environment may give you experience and understanding in how to work in multidisciplinary teams.
