About the course You’ll develop knowledge and understanding of chemical theories and practice to be able to apply them in a variety of science-related industrial contexts. HNC modules include: • Organic Chemistry • Physical Chemistry • Chemical Laboratory Techniques • Analysis of Scientific Data and Information • Inorganic Chemistry • Work-based Investigation • Industrial Chemistry • Analytical Chemistry New City Hub campus The Life Sciences department is based at the college's new £58 million City Hub campus, near Nottingham train station. The campus opened in the Spring of 2021 and features state of the art teaching and learning facilities, science laboratories, with a restaurant, cafe and performing arts venue. Assessment Units are assessed via a range of internally set and assessed assignments including: reports, case studies, oral presentations, practical assessments, individual project work, data analysis, research, investigation, problem-solving tasks and portfolios of evidence. Pearson Level 4 Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Applied Sciences (Chemistry) Bursaries We want our courses to be accessible to students from any background, so we’ve put together a cash support package in the form of non-repayable bursaries to provide financial help where it’s really needed. Your career and progression From the HNC, you could progress on to our Higher National Diploma (HND) in Applied Science (Chemistry), or enter into employment. If you continue onto the Level 5 HND, upon successful completion you could go into employment or progress onto a wide range of science-based top-up degree courses, such as a BSc (Hons) or to further professional study in applied chemistry or a related discipline.

Assessment method
