Looking to enhance your career prospects in creative media? This Level 4 programme is designed for progressing Level 3 students who are aiming to develop a more independent and professional approach to Creative Media Production. This advanced course is also great for creative individuals with an interest in film & TV production and studying film context at a higher level. Working on a range of exciting briefs and employer-led projects, you will work towards achieving an industry-level standard. This course also enables students to work practically in small groups or on their own to create: Music Videos Documentaries Experimental Film Narrative Film Script Writing Developing a concept for a Film Examining the Industry Analysing Film and TV The course is also assessed through coursework, and there may be an opportunity to take part in a visit to Europe each year of the course.

You will take part in: Training for a range of careers in the media sector and its support industries. Opportunities to gain a nationally recognised qualification to enter employment in the media sector or progress to higher qualification in media production. Develop a range knowledge, understanding and skills in the field of media production. Transferable skills that will enable you to progress and move within the media sector. Opportunities for learners to focus on the development of higher level skills in a media context. Develop a range of skills, techniques and attributes essential for successful performance in working life. Course Content You will partake in the following units during the course: Film & Video Editing Creative Media Industry Professional Practice Film & Television Practices Light & Sound Film Studies Scriptwriting for Sound Individual Project Interview & Presentation Techniques Investigative Journalism

Assessment method

Assessment is continuous and is based on assignments, group projects, lectures, workshops and summative and formative tasks. Knowledge and understanding of a subject is often developed through lectures and workshops as well through real life work experiences. Intellectual skills such as analysis, synthesis, evaluation, and problem solving may be demonstrated and applied through active learning via formative tasks and summative assignments and projects. Practical skills assessment involves practical demonstration through processes and final outcomes & projects. Transferable skills are readily convertible to employment and other contexts, such as in a problem solving, working effectively as part of team or meeting the needs of client etc. These often address wider skills such as written communication (developed and assessed through essays or reports and evaluations; oral skills through presentations in seminars). Both written and verbal feedback is given.

GCSE Maths – grade C/4 GCSE English Language– grade C/4 Functional skill Level 2 Maths and English No international applications. Also required: Applications to all FT UG must be made through UCAS. If you only wish to apply to this college, please contact us and we will process your UCAS application. Related work experience will be considered for mature applicants. All applicants will be required to sit an initial assessment and attend an interview, and may be required to sit a written exam. Points of entry: Year 2 (HND) and Year 3. Campus: Wisemore Campus (Main Site). Students must provide a portfolio of work at interview - can be phyical or digital.
