Interested in sport and exercise and the science that drives it? Aspire to help elite athletes perform to their highest potential? Or make your mark by tackling health challenges such as obesity, heart disease and diabetes? With a practical, 'real-world', multi and inter-disciplinary emphasis on the latest sports science, our Sport and Exercise Science BSc (Hons) course will explore psychology, physiology, biomechanics, nutrition, strength and conditioning and performance analysis to help you give future sports stars the winning edge. You’ll also learn about health issues from internationally acknowledged experts, giving you the real-world experience to qualify for public health roles beyond graduation. At Northumbria we also provide you with the opportunity to study out of discipline modules with an emphasis on sport management and sport coaching, so if you have an entrepreneurial streak or are interested in teaching following graduation, this is the course for you. With access to a sports laboratory and testing equipment in our specialist sport and teaching facility, the Sport and Exercise Science BSc is a course that focuses on practical hands-on training to set you up for a career in sport and exercise science.
