Following on from the HNC Animal Management programme, this one year top up course is designed for students wanting to work within the animal sector. It further develops knowledge and understanding of the industry and individual animals as well as developing the research skills that are invaluable for working within a zoo or research environment. This is a stimulating and challenging programme of study that will be both engaging and memorable for students within this discipline. It provides the essential subject knowledge that students need to progress successfully into further study or the world of work. Entry Requirements: You will need to have completed an HNC Animal Management before starting this programme. Course content: Units include: biological principles; animal behaviour; animal adaptations; fish, game and wildlife management and teaching a specialist subject. There will also be work placement opportunities in a variety of animal management settings. Assessment: This course is assessed through a series of written assignments with some practical work and presentations. Materials/Additional costs: You will need to have sturdy, waterproof footwear such as boots and warm clothing and PPE for practical work. Progression: Successful completion of this course would enable progression to the final year of a complimentary Animal Management degree programme.
