Course summary
The course covers the core skills and processes required to be considered a practitioner of Game Art & Design and/or Visual Effects, with a primary focus on the ‘3D’ skills required across the fields. The course pyramids learning, with you completing with both strong fundamentals and a specialism that has been influenced and affected by ongoing industry engagement.
Modules
Initially, fundamentals are taught in year 1, with additional scope to allow for independent learning and specialism and industry engagement at the earliest stage. Level 4 – 3D Modelling and Digital Sculpt Texturing and Rendering Animation principles and individual investigation Year 2 moves towards you being able to specialise, where demanded, whilst also being able to learn and possess a broad range of practical skills across the industries. Level 5 – 3D Character animation Game environments and visual scripting Camera tracking and compositing Game asset creation and independent projects Year 3 sees you develop as a specialism within your chosen field, allowing for development of skills and portfolios closer to (or exceeding) industry expectations. Level 6 – Specialist research and investigation Major project development
