This course is suitable for you if you wish to develop your technical expertise in mechanical engineering and is ideal if you are preparing to move to a more technically demanding role. How you learn All our courses are designed around a set of key principles based on engaging you with the world, collaborating with others, challenging you to think in new ways, and providing you with a supportive environment in which you can thrive. You will study a combination of technical modules addressing advanced aspects of mechanical engineering, complemented by two management modules and a masters project. Optional modules are in the subject areas of manufacturing, design, design analysis (i.e. element analysis) and sustainability, energy and environmental management. You learn through:

There are opportunities to study abroad at one of our partner universities with the possibility of funding through the Erasmus+ programme (until 2023) or the Turing Scheme. **Applied learning Live projects** We encourage you to learn through the application of theories, concepts and knowledge to real-life situations (such as your own organisation) or by using case studies. Our part time students can find that their masters projects are typically of significant importance to their companies and can raise their profile in the organisation. The international product development module involves working in multidisciplinary teams to develop a new product in a global market. This develops much sought after advanced technical and business skills. The project provides a supported environment to develop your ability in an area of your interest. Competitions You can design, build and fly a remote-controlled aircraft as part of the Unmanned Aircraft Systems Challenge in Snowdonia. Apply to design, build and race a car as part of the Formula Student competition. This year our SHURacing team had its best ever performance.
