Course summary
Product designers use creativity and problem-solving skills to develop innovative solutions that enhance people’s lives. Our Product Design BSc (Hons) integrates practical experience and theoretical knowledge in a supportive environment as you develop the skills to become a well-rounded professional. You learn to navigate every stage of the product development process, with the ability to design sustainable, socially conscious, commercially viable and technically sound solutions. Project-based learning in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary studio environment that mirrors industry, encourages you to learn from and with each other, helping prepare you for your career. Don’t meet these entry requirements? The University of Brighton Product Design BSc(Hons) with integrated foundation year provides an extra year of study at foundation level for students who do not currently have the portfolio of work or academic qualifications required for entry to this course. Successful completion of the foundation year enables you to progress onto year 1 of this degree.

Additional fee information
Please note that the £13,842 international fee is for classroom based courses and provisional for 2023. For lab based courses a higher fee of £14,892 applies. EU students will be charged international fees unless they have settled status awarded by the UK Government's Settlement Scheme.
Further tuition fees are payable for each subsequent year of study and are subject to an annual increase of no more than 5% or RPI (whichever is the greater). The annual increase for UK/EU students, who are subject to regulated fees, will increase no more than the statutory maximum fee.
The tuition fee you have to pay depends on a number of factors including the kind of course you take, and whether you study full-time or part-time. If you are studying part-time you will normally be charged on a pro rata basis depending on the number of modules you take. If your course includes a sandwich year option you will pay a reduced fee during this year; £1,370 for home students and £2,120 for international students.
