Course summary
The Sussex Africa Centre breaks the boundaries of conventional area studies. You’ll be guided and supervised by experts focusing not only on the African continent but also on African diasporic communities in the UK and around the world. You’ll work in an interdisciplinary environment – we connect social science and humanities expertise with environmental science, medicine, education and development studies.

You’re normally expected to have a Merit (an average of 60% of overall) in a Masters degree and an upper second-class (2.1) undergraduate honours degree. Your qualification should be in a field related to your chosen area of research. You may also be considered for the degree if you have other professional qualifications or experience of equivalent standing.
