Course summary
At the Aberystwyth Business School we’re committed to attracting talented scholars at all levels to contribute to the academic vitality and research profile of the school. We welcome research proposals relating to Accounting, Finance, Economics, Marketing and Enterprise since these represent significant areas of our research expertise. Furthermore, our Masters programmes in Finance have been especially designed to offer a research training option, to prepare students for progression onto a PhD.
Modules
Year 1 Core (30 Credits) Students must take a minimum 30 credits of the following centrally provided research training modules: Semester 1: Quantitative Data Collection And Analysis PGM1010; Qualitative Data Collection And Analysis PGM1100; Qualitative Data Collection And Analysis PGM1700. Semester 2: Qualitative Data Collection And Analysis PGM1120; Qualitative Data Collection And Analysis PGM1710. Year 1 Options: The following are optional centrally provided research training modules. Students should take at least one of the following modules: Semester 1: Dulliau Darllen MOR0510; Research Skills And Personal Development PGM0100; Principles Of Research Design PGM0210; Ways Of Reading PGM0410; Manuscript Skills: Post Medieval Palaeographic And Diplomatic PGM1210; Using Manuscript Sources For Medieval Studies; Palaeography, Diplomatic And Context PGM1400. Semester 2: Research Skills And Personal Development PGM0120 Using Manuscript Sources For Medieval Studies; Palaeography, Diplomatic And Context PGM1420.
Entry requirements
You will need: A minimum of at least an upper second class honours degree; Either a relevant Masters degree or a commitment to study advanced study modules within your chosen discipline; Research experience or a commitment to study the Research Training modules. You will also need one of the following in order to meet the English language entry requirements for admission onto a PhD research programme: GCSE English or IELTS 6.5 (or equivalent English language qualification).
