Please note: the Integrated International Foundation year of this course will be taught at our UCA Farnham Campus. You would then transfer to our UCA Canterbury campus for the remaining three years of the course Your journey to becoming a qualified architect begins here on our fully validated and accredited BA (Hons) Architecture (ARB/RIBA Part 1) degree course at UCA Canterbury. Within a lively, progressive and creative environment, you’ll be designing new buildings and considering the world around you from the outset. On this course, we'll challenge you to become highly skilled in technical drawing and design. You’ll also be encouraged to consider how architecture can have a wider impact on the world – from its immediate surroundings and social contexts, right through to the human body. Architecture is an ever-evolving subject and in the fast-paced construction industry, there will always be a need for professionals who can provide innovative solutions to the new and undiscovered challenges. You’ll benefit from dedicated studios, master a wealth of industry-grade technology and apparatus, and have the use of our cutting-edge Tracklab virtual reality studio so you can begin your career in architecture with the theoretical and practical knowledge needed to thrive. Modules
For our students coming from a non-UK educational background, UCA has an Integrated International Foundation Year to bring students from around the world to one hub of creativity. This is based at UCA Epsom and delivered by UCAIC. This year of preparatory study is designed to give you the skills you’ll need to start your degree in the best possible way – with confidence, solid knowledge of creative practice, study skills and the English speaking and writing skills you’ll need to succeed. You’ll explore a range of creative techniques and develop your portfolio, with your chosen subject in mind. We’ll work with you throughout the year to ensure you’re on the right track and give you the tools to achieve your highest potential on your degree.

We require evidence of your English language ability to meet the requirements for your course. If you're a Home student and studied in the UK, we require GCSE English at a minimum grade C/4 (or Functional Skills English/Key Skills Communication Level 2). If you’re an EU student and studied a European qualification, we may accept the English Language score from your main qualification - please review your country from the list on our website to see whether we will accept it: https://www.uca.ac.uk/international-study/equivalent-qualifications/ If your qualification is not on this list, we accept the following English language qualifications: IELTS (overall score 6.0), TOEFL ibt (overall score 88), PEARSON PTE Academic (overall 55), Cambridge Proficiency Exam (overall score 169), Cambridge Advanced Exam (overall score 169). If you need a Tier 4 student visa to study in the UK, you will need to take an IELTS test, and achieve an overall score of 6.0 and a minimum score of 5.5 for each element (Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing).
