Geography at University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) - UCAS

Course summary

Are you curious about the world around you? Do you find the facts, figures and visuals of physical, environmental, and human geography fascinating and want to explore them further? At both local and global levels, many of the significant challenges facing society today are related to geography. Enjoy the stunning surroundings of Scotland as you learn about biodiversity, atmosphere, climate, ecosystems, tourism, design skills, globalisation, society, and more, along with a third year work placement module with an external agency. Take part in field trips, which are a truly valuable and memorable part of your studies, including day trips in the local area as well as residential field trips around Scotland. With the amazing terrain of the Highlands as your classroom, develop highly transferable skills in research, creative-thinking, problem-solving, analysis, communication, numeracy, IT, and presentation, that can be applied to almost any workplace. Expand your horizon to opportunities in an almost limitless choice of fields: from government agencies such as the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), the Environment Agency, and Scottish Natural Heritage, to roles in planning, teaching, tourism, consultancy, and cartography, the world is truly your oyster.
