Have politics - with a small and a capital 'p' - ever been so mainstream as they are today? With the rise of social media giving people of all ages access to their own platform, much is discussed but how much is understood? Explore the three main areas of political study - political theory, international relations, and comparative politics - and gain a solid understanding of current debates and controversies. Develop intellectual independence and autonomy as you hone your skills in debating, investigation, research, teamwork, and critical analysis. Enjoy visits from guest speakers, and take part in workshops and masterclasses to refine your abilities, with the option to study a placement module in the third year, based in a political environment, to gain invaluable experience in the field.

Entry requirements for advanced entry (i.e. into Year 2 and beyond)
HNC Social Science (12 SQA credits) with 3 additional SQA credits at level 7, which is equivalent to 120 degree credit points, and at least grade C in the Graded Unit will be considered for direct entry to year two
International applicants
This course is not currently available for international students (including EU/EEA and Swiss nationals without settled or pre-settled status in the UK) requiring Student Route visa sponsorship to study in the UK.
