Course summary
This course is based in superb facilities with staff who practise in the industry, so you can be assured of an exceptional learning experience. The focus is on providing you with the technical and creative skills you will need to become a successful practitioner in this industry. This means fulfilling client briefs on time and within budget, while producing stunning high-quality images - or documenting the world around you through your vision. This BA (Hons) Photography programme integrates creativity with practical skills – designed to prepare you for employment in the creative imaging industry. Our course has been developed in consultation with professional practitioners, trade bodies, online-content producers and industry partners. Throughout the course, you are able to access to Canon, Sony, Hasselblad and Phase One camera systems plus a range of industry-standard photographic equipment. You may also use a fully equipped professional studio, which is designed to prepare you for the industry. Our graduates have gone on to undertake post-graduate training and/or work in a wide range of careers including: fashion, television and media, wedding photography, car advertising, sport/extreme sport, social portraiture, photo retouching, music publishing, E-commerce and education. All students are offered bespoke training to a professional standard in Capture 1, Adobe Lightroom and the Adobe Creative Suite.

Your potential is our main focus when assessing your suitability for the programme you have applied to. Because of this, we take into account all aspects of your application and not just your academic profile. If you are a mature applicant (i.e. 21+ years), we will place more emphasis on your portfolio and the skills and experience you can demonstrate at interview. Your portfolio, which you bring to interview, is an integral part of the assessment. It should demonstrate your current skills, interests and knowledge where appropriate. It is also expected that you will bring evidence of written work to interview and/or have a Level 2 qualification in English/Literacy.
