Course summary
Studying on our professionally accredited BSc (Hons) Nursing with Registered Nurse Status (Adult) degree will give you the opportunity to complete clinical practice placements in a variety of settings, including hospital and out of hospital settings, and in simulated practice placements in our new state of the art clinical simulation suites.

Assessment method
Assessment is through a combination of exams, essays and assignments, workbooks, portfolios and presentations. On top of this there will be practical work and clinical assessment, which will be done either at the university or in practice where you will be assessed by clinical mentors. You will be offered feedback at various points during the course and support will always be readily available from your individual module tutors should you need advice or guidance at any time. We believe that constructive feedback is vital in helping you identify your strengths as well as the areas where you may need to put in more work.

We will accept the new Cache Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care grade B or above, or in combination with other relevant qualifications. Also NVQ Level 3 in a relevant subject is accepted for mature applicants only. These applicants also need to provide evidence of recent study or professional development and must currently be working within a healthcare environment for a minimum of 2 years. Due to the volume of applications, amendments will not be accepted once an application has been submitted; therefore applicants are advised to make sure each section is completed correctly prior to submission. No more than 50% RPL – this is an NMC requirement. Applicants must hold grade 4 or grade C or above in English Language and Mathematics GCSE or an approved alternative qualification. We will consider applicants who are in the process of completing their GCSE English Language and Mathematics or level 2 equivalents. Acceptable equivalents would be: • Key Skills Level 2 in English/Maths • NVQ Level 2 Functional skills in English Writing and or Reading and Maths • Skills for Life Level 2 in Literacy/Numeracy • Higher Diploma in English/Maths • Functional skills level 2 in English/Maths • Northern Ireland Essential Skills Level 2 in Communication or Application of Number • Wales Essential Skills Level 2 in Communication or Application of Number Are functional skills acceptable?
