Course summary
Developed in consultation with industry, the University of Northampton’s BSc Sustainable Logistics & Supply Chain Management will allow you to develop knowledge and understanding of contemporary, sustainable Logistics and Supply Chain Management operations. In many of the largest economies in the world, up to one person in eight is employed in logistics and supply chain management. The network that feeds consumer demand has become more complex as manufacturing has transferred from traditional economies to the emerging powerhouses of the developing world. Goods are shipped over many thousands of miles as businesses recognise that efficient supply chains are sources of competitive advantage, in the same way that we might consider competition between brands. Developments in the last three decades have seen huge investments in the technologies necessary to deliver reduced operating costs, shorter lead times and better value for customers. The logistics industry requires higher levels of education than ever. Best practice is continually transferred from one application to another, increasing the value of broad experience across many industry sectors. By its very nature, the logistics industry promotes international mobility, with professionals taking up posts around the globe. A career in logistics can be the key to a lifetime of discovering the diversity of the modern world of business. By studying at the University of Northampton, you can be sure that:
