Course summary

The Higher National Diploma in Creative Media (Film) has been designed to develop the skills required to launch a successful career in filmmaking. Equivalent to the first two years of a bachelors degree, you can choose to leave after one year, gaining a level 4 Higher National Certificate or two years, gaining a Higher National Diploma. Those who complete the level 5 HND then have the option to enrol onto a 3rd top up year to achieve a recognised degree at a university. You will have the opportunity to learn and practice a range of filmmaking techniques, culminating in the production of several short films. You will also be supported to work with employers on live briefs, building a diverse portfolio that will give you an edge when getting your foot in the door. The department has an outstanding range of location filming equipment that students are able to book and use at any time during their studies. Our onsite technicians also provide bespoke training and support in each piece of equipment.
